The epic theatre game is back with an upgrade! A battle of the century that neither gods nor humans can predict.
If the gods' grace towards mankind is but a harvest, and the establishment of human civilisation is but a gamble... beneath civilisation, desires run rampant. In this treacherous game of wits, who will have the last laugh?

Cross-media creator Jing Wong and her team draw inspiration from ancient mythology to create a never-before-seen world-building game. 'When the World is Your Enemy' combines role-playing, war gaming, interactive competition and live performance, inviting the audience to break the boundary between the stage and the audience and interact closely with the performers. Following its world premiere at Freespace Small Box in March 2026, the show now moves to Freespace Big Box with an upgraded format. The new format not only makes the competition more exciting but also allows more audience members to take charge of this unique theatrical experience.

Choose your identity: as 'Humans' who build the world, you must fight for resources against the gods and either conquer the four corners of the world or cooperate with each other; as 'Gods' who control the world, you can trigger world events, allocate resources and rule over mankind — with the new programme design, you hold the power to rewrite the destiny of humans.

The Xiqu Centre Creators' Series gathers Hong Kong performing artists with a unique vision for experimental works in different forms and themes, infusing local art with new ideas and creating innovative productions.
